Now convinced that there must be some type of silent alarm, I hurriedly grabbed some dancewear catalogs and, after locking the door, ran to my car.>That's really bad, I know, but it gets worse. Gripped by guilt and this sinking feeling that I'd set myself on course for a lifetime of criminal activity, I returned to the store that same night. I jimmied the door open once again and returned everything to its original place. Driving home in my car, I couldn't decide which was worse: the initial act of theft or the subsequent return of the dancewear goods. >I've never done anything like that again but it was a quite wonderful, if slightly sickly, thrill. --Oh, and I forgot one more thing: the thrill of the purchase! That nervous feeling you struggle to contain as you browse the aisles of dancewear to eventually approach the salesperson with your purchase.
