He also told me how in the fifth grade he had gotten in a fight with his sisters and two of their friends one day that sent the other two girls home in tears, and his sisters screaming to his grandmother.

His grandmother was horrified with his actions and had called his father at work. His grandmother took control of the situation, and by the end of the day he had been dressed as a girl, and marched down the street to both of the other girls houses where he appoligized for his behavior.

Then his grandmother kept him dressed as a girl for the rest of the year.  He got to wear boys clothes to school, but when he came home it was back into dresses.  He said he had a terrible time with the boys in the neighborhood, until he blacked a couple of eyes of the worse teasers.  Bad as the boys had been he said his sisters and her friends were worse.

We discussed what had happened to me and to my older Uncle. He said it apparently it was discipline technique that was passed along from grandmother to mother to daughter in famalies. Probably with the idea "If it works use it." With new garments (Tights, leotards & unitards) added to the old ideas and garments as fashions changed.

Will detail further what happend to me and previously to my Uncle Jimmy, that will bring that out better.
