Re: Dancewear Bondage

>Mr. Freeze was an original Bob Kane creation, not a TV creation. Not only did the TV writers make up new villains, they even rewrote A Riddler two part episode to create a new villain!!! When John Astin didn't work out as the "New Riddler", and Frank Gorshin was "unavailable" (read holding out for more money!!) the TV writers took a Riddler story, and created "The Puzzler" played by Maurice Evans. Certainly one of THE most forgetable villains ever. He didn't even wear tights!!  Eventually Frank Gorshin agreed to come back and once again put on his evil green tights and leotard for one last appearence in a rather poor one parter called "Ring Around The Riddler". In this strange episode The Riddler is trying to take over all the boxing in Gotham City. Why? So he can challenge Batman to a boxing match. The only things that make this episode interesting is to see The Riddler in his green tights and leotard with pink boxing trunks over them. COOL!!! And this was the only time The Riddler and Batgirl faced eachother. It was also the episode that introduced Joan as "The Siren". Another TV created villainess!!!! GROAN!!!

>>>Remember the one where the Joker challenges Batman to a surfing match? Baggies over bat-tights? I agree that the made-for-TV villains weren't a patch on the Bob Kane ones (that whole Joker/Batman duality is one of the most fascinating dynamics in superhero comics-the bad guy has the sense of humor, the good guy doesn't...), but I can think of two exceptions to this rule: 1) King Tut: Yeah, he was campy, but I got a kick out of Victor Buono's performance. 2) False Face: He was one of the few Batman TV villains that was genuinely creepy. Man, they oughta put that show back on TV again! It was a gas!-Depon

>>>P.S. Why were there so few tights-clad lady villains, that's what I'd like to know! When I was an eight-year-old Batman fanatic, I swear I felt my own "ratings" go up when they cast Leslie Gore as Catwoman's sidekick and popped her into that pink kitten outfit. I remember seeing Ms. Gore being interviewed on some music show shortly afterward, and the guy asked her if she was going to appear on "Batman" again. She replied that she was ready, as she still had her pink tights. Atta girl!
