Well, maybe they're the most accurately looking tights for Rennaissance outfits, but they sure won't feel as nice as other blends. You can go with microfiber tights that have a matte finish, yet still have the stretch and hold advantage of Lycra. The trick, like you say, is finding a source that has sizes to fit the tall guys. So far, the only vendor I've found is Donna Karan (when talking non-ballet sources).
