I loved really being expected and required to wear leotards and tights. The soft leather ballet slippers with the elastic strap was also something of a turn on. I always liked seeing what other male dancers were wearing. I'll never forget this one guy who was in fantastic shape and wore a spagetti strap camisole leotard. I wish I had the guts to do that! Anyway, a few years ago, I took pointe class for real. I never bothered to dye my shoes from their native pink. I love the color, smell and sheen of pink pointe shoes and no one minded or cared. It was probably the most physiclaly demanding challange of my life. However the feeling of really DANCING en pointe FOR REAL was GREAT! I wasn't just bumbling around my apartment. I was REALLY dancing! The first pique turn en pointe was such a RUSH! I felt so proud of myself that I was bursting! Unfortunately, It's been well over a year since my last pointe class and some months since ballet. I need to get back into it and maybe work back to pointe. Such a feeling of accomplishment. In class, I wore my pointe shoes with thin white socks over sturrup or footless tights or unitard. I would LOVE to have worn them over footed tights but I needed access to my toes for padding, gel tips, and/or lamb's wool. I love the feeling of tying on the pointe shoes with the pink robbons. At home or in class, that is such an amazing feeling. Like a kind of bondage, in a way. I also love looking at women's legs in pink tights with pink pointe shoes tied on. So nice to look at. Pretty and sexy and strong.... Well.... Those are a few of my observations on the subject of pointe shoes. Stay on your toes! --EMPIRA EMPIRA@hot mail.com
