>ehh. 'tis my given name. i'm a taurus, and it's an earth sign, though i myself have more characteristics of the air element. lucid dreaming is one of those things that you teach yourself, and it's the first step to dream control. my book is called Remembering Your Dreams by Craig Hamilton-Parker, isbn # 0-8069-4343-2. some very interesting ideas of dream control. you can also trigger out-of-body experiences through your dreams. very interesting book, and i highly rec0mmend it. it describes a similar method to mine of triggering lucid dreams. what i do is look for proof of lucidity or lack thereof. then i remind myself that i am lucid, or dreaming, whichever the case may be. as far as further dream control, that's something that c0mes with practice, practice, practice, but lucid dreaming is the first step.>far's the fetish, i think it's both of what you said. it shows the female (or male) form while hiding it at the same time. and i still haven't figured out why but it does arouse me when i put them on. so now that leads to the question of what sort of weird fetishes did they have back in medieval times?:P>terra

>> Sounds intriguing--I'll have to do a little hunting for that book.  This is something I've always had an interest in but never put into action.  About the only thing I ever tried "beyond the norm" was self-hypnosis, and that didn't work... I still struggle with some of my own self-imposed (subconsciously) limitations that I really want to overc0me without delving into something absurdly long term like psychotherapy.  I know enough about psychology to deal with quite a lot, and have also realized therapy isn't a sure-win path to a solution.

Speaking of psychology, that's about the only real root of a fetish that I can believe in.  Definitely not genetic... a fetish for something not naturally occurring (like tights!) wouldn't make sense to have a physiological source.  Usually it is some special circumstance that makes a mental association and BINGO--fetish is put into motion.  Follow that by years of "exercising it" and you've got a firmly planted trait.  Can definitely be an asset (variety in all things, eh?), but if it's not something you easily accept you can have all sorts of nasty struggles...

I'll bet there were fetishes back in medieval days, just far fewer than today.  And with the rigidness of society, VERY hard to act out.  Imagine a man getting caught wearing an article of women's clothing... emotionally flogged for a long time to c0me.
