A little rip-off of Billy Idol there. Marie & I went to the wedding of one of her friends last weekend, and there were tights involved! This was an outdoor wedding at a former industrial facility that had been converted to a rental hall, (great skyline view, though!)and the couple were older, artsy-types, and pretty non-conformist. Given these factors, I asked Marie to check with the bride in advance to see what appropriate attire was. (I HATE wearing a suit!) "Tell Vic to wear anything, jeans are fine." I was glad to hear it, but still hoped I wouldn't be out of place. When we arrived, I noticed a wide range of levels of dressiness, so I felt OK. What REALLY stood out to Marie & myself was one guest, a rather striking looking, well-built 30-something woman dressed in a black, full unitard with some sort of loosly woven, full length gold metallic netting over top of it. Her hair was woven into a tall, elaborate 'do, her eyes done up with lots of black theatrical makeup, Cleopatra style. Had a jewel- like thingy adhered to the middle of her forehead. The way she was interacting with the bride & groom, I thought she might be the maid of honor. She looked for all the world like a guest star on "I Dream Of Jeannie", or an alien ambassador Captain Kirk would seduce to get some secret plans.Things begin, and it turns out, SHE is the official performing the ceremony!!The entirety of the vows went like this- "Carl, will you be a good husband to Sherri?""Yes.""Sherri, will you be a good wife to Carl?""Yes.""Exchange rings, please." (They swap rings.)"By the power granted to me by Rolling Stone magazine"- (throws both her arms in the air) "ABRACADABRA! You're married!"At that moment, I was then fully sure wearing jeans wasn't inappropriate!Well, there ya go!- Vic
