For the rest of your life as a dancer, you will hear the term "body type."  No one really tells you what it is, so people make their own assuptions.  It could very easily be a trap.  There is really no such thing.  You may have or have not heard the term, I just wanted to forewarn you to be careful as to what you believe about it.  I know so many dancers that are anorexic, bulemic, and pill poppers.  Eventually, after time, your body will tone up and you won't be as out of breath.  You have my word on it.  Watch what you eat (choose the fruit over the snickers), but I wouldn't suggest a diet where you skip meals, because dancers need stamina and if you don't have energy processed by food, you're in trouble!!  Taking up speed walking or jogging may help you out, just pace yourself though.  A thing about dieting to keep in mind is that if your going to eat one big meal, but then some smaller ones, don't have dinner be the big one.  You can't burn anything off.  Have breakfeast be your big one.  I hope that this is some help and that I don't sound like a bossy nutritionalist!:0).  Good luck and let me know how it's going!!~Love,Ashlea

>Help, i have just started to learn ballet and am very overweight, i love to dance, and would love to do it without all the huffing and puffing. If anyone could suggest a good diet plan, i would be most gratefull.>thank you>Lee
