Hi.The Grishko is a very good shoe for the longer middle toe, but also Russian Pointe has an excellent shoe too.  You can visit their website also at www.russianpointe.com.  As far as the split sole shoe, the only difference with it, is the bottom sole is split like a soft shoe.  The shank is the same either 3/4 or full. You can get most split soles in any strength you need.  Not everyone carries a split sole.  Sansha, Leo, Fuzi are a few. You can feel the difference physically because most dancers are used to the long strip of leather under their arch.  The best way to find a shoe that fits is actually going to a dancestore that has a qualified fitter. Otherwise I'm afraid it is a hit and miss. If you can't find anything, let us know, we will get some specifics about your foot, including a good tracing and will try to assist you with a good fit. Hope this was somewhat helpful. Thanks,Terre, The Ballet Barre
