Re: men's pointe shoes

>>>I am a desperate mother of a 16-year-old boy who dances on pointe, but have had a terrible time finding pointe shoes that will fit him.  We started with the Sansha Futuras which only go up to a 14, and bought pairs in red and blue, but they really were not big enough.  He used them for a while in class, which caused quite a lot of reaction, by students and teachers alike.  Everyone has a differing opinion, it seems, on whether it's okay for boys to be on pointe or not.  I was thrilled to be able to find your e-mails about pointe shoes, Jeremy and Zach, and immediately went to the nydancestore.com site and ordered several black canvas pairs.  We live in California and that way we can decide which pair fit the best.  When will a footwear company start making pointe shoes for men?  Surely there's a demand for them.  I suppose the Ballet Trock have theirs made to order.  I also asked Gaynor Minden if they could make up some for my son, but they told me they didn't make them in larger sizes (i.e. above 11 or so).  >>>Anyway, thanks so much for your advice, it's been a lifesaver.>>I am a male dancer and a teacher, try capezio plie 2's you can go to any capezio dealer they will have your son stand on a peice of paper ,trace his foot and send the drawing to capezio, you can choose the colour. I use plie 2's they are really good. also go to www.balletalert.com to their forums and fill out a pointe shoe suggestion form.
