Written by - Geschrieben von Yehuda Maor at / am 19 Dec 2004 00:26:48: Announcement- Peter Breuer, Salzburg Ballet Artistic Director announced his intention to create a new Ballet Company, “The Salzburg Ballet Ensemble”. (SBE) that will work closely with Salzburg Ballet Company.
The new company’s purpose is to give advanced ballet students the opportunity to perform. This will be a touring company that will showcase Peter Breuer’s choreography, and will give other local and international choreographers the tools to create new works. Both “SBE” and The Salzburg Ballet Company will pick dancers from “SIBA”, the Salzburg International Ballet Academy. The “SBE” will start rehearsals for the new season in the fall of 2005. We will hold auditions in Munich, Amsterdam, Los Angeles, and New York for SIBA’s Summer Intensive Workshop, where we'll have the chance to work with the dancers for a full month to see their abilities, personalities, and attitudes, before we select dancers for the both the Ensemble and the Salzburg Ballet Company. We are looking for young male and female dancers from the ages 16 to 23 for the Workshop with our international faculty. The Summer Workshop will be held from July 11th to August 6th, and will end with a performance in which dancers will be judged on their ability to perform. SBE will give equal opportunity to all dancers with different backgrounds and races. The SBE will be located in the spacious studios of Salzburg International Ballet Academy in Salzburg, Austria.
