In most adult ballet classes there is no requirement as to what a male student can, or can't wear. It would be unusual though if a guy did wear a "women's" leotard, even though most leotards, much like tights are virtually unisex. Most men who start ballet late in life wil not wear a leotard, or even tights for that matter. I've been to several different ballet studios to take my classes, and I've actually seen one or two guys who did wear leotards with their tights, which is perfectly acceptable, just not very common place.
