A leotard is a perfectly respectable thing for any male dancer towear.  If you are uncertain, however, you can always get by withtights and a T-shirt.  And 16 is a perfectly good age to start.  Iwas twice as old as that when I started.

But I must warn you (a) a ballet class is no place to indulge afetish.  (Nothing wrong with a fetish; it's just that that's justnot the place for it.)  (b) You'll be working so d@mned hard youwon't have leisure to think about what you're wearing.  Ballet is*work.* It's also terrific fun, but only if you're prepared to workyour butt off.  (c) You're likely to get hooked.  And once balletgets in your blood, it never gets out again.
