Hey SFDanseur! Where have you been?

Hey SFDanseur!

I was very surprised at your response, to wit:

>Most men don't wear bikinis, and the number that do doesn't create enough demand for them to market men's bikinis.

There is a huge market around the world for mens' bikinis.  I can think of hundreds of websites that sell mens' bikinis!  Among my male danseur friends, a Speedo is too much coverage!

Parr of Arizona was probably the first American maker of mass marketed mens' bikinis, back in the 1950's (aside from the smaller groups that sold out of the back of mens' magazines).  They had this red-and-white Italian table cloth bikini that was very popular.  Esquire even wrote an article about Parr and its mens' bikinis.

I actually got my first mens' bikini from the Village Squire in New York City when I was 12 years old.  It was burgundy and a cotton knit material.  My second was a "diving slip" from England in light blue nylon tricot.

There is a huge market around the world for mens' bibikis.  Even Speedo, which only sells traditional briefs in the US, sells skimpy bikinis, low-rise suits, and even thongs in other world markets.  I have a Speedo from Australia with side-seams of 1/2 inch (Their "solar" model).
