Leotards were invented by Jules Leotard for men to wear (originaly) but as usual, women are wearing them and everyone thinks it's womens clothing. Tights are the same thing, men used to wear them with tunics, they were mens clothing, not womens. If you can think of it as just clothing, and not his or yours but rather yours, it's much easier.
