Now I decided that I will go and have some properly fitted in the store. I expect it to be such a rush to try on various models and be helped by one of the store's girls while the other girls (store attendants and shopers alike) in the store  are looking at you. maybe they'll let be me use the barre they have in the shop!>Any of you who have done this before? how was it? did you get the perfect pointes?

Hi

I have purchased pointe shoes in the Bloch store in Sydney, Australia.  I'm transgendered, so go out dressed as a girl often.  I went to the bloch store as a girl, and asked about pointe shoes.  I have size 12 feet, but fortunately, the size 9 serenade shoes fit.

The girls there were very nice.  They asked how long I had been dancing.  I told them that I had never danced en pointe before, and that I just wanted a pair.  They thought that was odd, and suggested that I get a pair of demi-pointe shoes, as they weren't as hard as the serenade shoes I was trying on.  Unfortunately, they didn't have any demi-pointe that fit, but I sure had fun trying on a variety of different slippers!

I've since gone back there quite a few times and purchased other things, like leotards, dance pants, leg warmers, etc.

It's such a thrill to be treated like a girl and a dancer.  I love it!

Hugs,

Savannah
