Re: CONSIDERED! -- and reconsider.....

When you said...."I mean, figure fitting dance clothes is figure fitting dance clothes.  But, I figured that wearing a leotard OVER tights, especially with such sheer tights is feminine to me.  So I was a bit reluctant."

I've worn a leotard over tights, but, honestly, I haven't worn sheer tights. (My legs are too hairy, and the effect is not good!)  To tell the truth, I don't do this often, because I prefer my tights to fit well into my butt-crack, so that they allow the muscles to be seen.  A standard leotard over tights obscures the butt.

I have worn a thong back leotard over tights for a look I like.

Try this on the girls....wear just the leotard (with a dancebelt, of course).  Often in the summer months I would wear just a leotard.  A dancer with ABT turned me on to this look.  The bottom of the leotard may slip-up the buttcheeks, but, to tell the truth, I like that when I wear just a leotard.

Another fun look that might freak-out the girls is to wear a "trunk" (with a dancebelt, of course).  A trunk is like a brief, or like a light-weight speedo with a higher waist.  They're available from most dancewear stores, and you can get them also at sporting-goods stores in the women's active wear sections.

You could also wear a pair of tight-fitting shorts.  There are light-weight lycra shorts (sometimes called exercise shorts, and kind-of like bike shorts, but lighter material) or sweatpants-like shorts.  If the legs of the shorts are long, roll-up the material, like you're making cuffs.

I've worn a trunk with a crop-top, a short t-shirt.  You can also wear a regular t-shirt -- and pull the material tight in the front, around your waist, then tie the extra material in back.

Hey....it looks like the girls are playing with you....so why don't you turn the tables on them and surprise them with some of your own innovations!

You also wrote: "Oh, I never wore a leotard before, and the ones the girls have been giving me have high cut legs, so that took a little getting used to. ....I showed this b-board to my sister and now she is going to buy me a pair of pink tights!  I think that's the last straw! LOL."

Yeah! I think the girls ARE playing with you.  If you really want to freak them out, wear just a dancebelt with a t-shirt!  (After all, your class is small and your sister is the teacher.  I wouldn't regularly suggest this if your classes were under a more "traditional" structure.)

Have some fun!  BalletMaster
