I understand that you said "my mother wants me to take ballet..."  That's OK, but you should really want to take ballet for yourself.  Ballet will help you build coordination and muscle strength.  It will help train your body into fantastic shape.  Ballet will also help you develop an expressive ability through dance.

There's a new film out called Billy Elliot.  It's about a boy who takes ballet and then comes to love it.  You should ask your mother to take you to see this film.
