[i]Well, probably it does not look as bad as you think. We are always really tough on ourselves. But one thing I did that really helped my port de bras was I found a piece of music that was really beautiful - that I really loved. Then I went into a room in my house that had a nice big mirror. Then I closed the door so I was all alone, put on the music, and just went through the port de bras excercises that my teacher always gave in class. I did this for years, regularly. Some of it in in the timing - having both arms move synchronously - not one before the other. Some of it is in the arrangment of the hand - actually you shouldn't arrange it - it falls much more gracefully just as it naturally falls. Also watch the thumbs - that they don't stick out. Now try moving your head with your arms, nothing ending before the other - all to gether. And then finally a developpe' - have the head, arms, and leg open all at the same time - starting together and finishing together. It takes lots of time, patience and work - but it is well worth it.
