If you scroll down a bit you will see that this question has been asked several times before - and YES it is possible.  I started in my midtwenties and danced professionally for 30 yrs., and taught for 25 yrs.  You need to work hard, with a good teacher, and it is possible.  You can't rush it.  You have to acquire the strength and technique necessary for pointe and that takes time.  So work hard - and you will do it.  Lots of luck!  Basheva

>I started dancing at age twelve and am thirteen and I have taken ballet and jazz for a year.  I am caught up with my age group in jazz but not in ballet because everyone is on point already and I am not.  I try really hard and my teacher says I'm doing really good.  But, I probably won't go on point until I'm fifteen.  I really want to be a dance teacher or in a profesional dancing group but I don't know if that's possible beacuse I started later then most people do.  Is it possible?  Has anyone else started at my age and became a teacher or pro dancer?
