Whenever I feel discouraged that I wont ever become a proffesional dancer, I think back to the time when a pro. my company hired to dance in the nutcracker told me how he started dance when he was 19 years old. Before that he had never taken a dance class in his life, and when I look at him dance on stage, or whenever I think of how well he dances, I get some hope. I started dancing seriously about 3 years ago, and I have had the same thoughts now and again: "Im never going to become proffesional..." Well, Im still in school, taking classes in NYC, at the Tisch school. Hopefully in three years I will become good enough to get jobs. My thought is dont ever get discouraged. If you are taking classes, you will become better, and things will happen. Another friend of mine moved to Seattle washington, auditioned for a hip-hop dance group, and got a job, with pay.. it all gives me hope. Keep up the good work, and things will definately happen. Just get to know your teachers, take master classes, if possible take summer intensives... Im sure it will all work out.
