I agree, Ballet is really difficult, you should always take class because the positions and movements the body has to do are easily done the wrong way at the beginning, because the body has not been educated. The teacher´s corrections are very important to correct what you may feel you are doing right when you are not, and sometimes these mistakes are not just a matter of prettiness or correctness, they can be threathening your health (which sometimes you will not notice until years later,when you cannot do much to avoid them, like some back problems, for example). If you cannot take a lot of classes, perhaps you could start taking just one or two classes a week and then practice a lot in your home. If you notice, most dancers keep taking daily class although they are already soloists or principals. Another point for taking class is that you cannot see all you body in the mirror, your teacher's and classmate's advice is highly valuable for your development.
