Ballet to improve posture and strength

Hi I'm 18 and am currently recovering from a serious neck injury that has left many muscles under developed or over developed down my back, neck and shoulders. My physio suggested ballet would be a good way to strengthen my muscles again and imporve my posture.

Even though I am 18, i am still very flexible (i'm hypermobile) and i have a good strong arch in my feet, as well as fairly strong ankles from horse riding. My only concern is any stress or strain on my neck and surrounding area.

Do you think i should go for it? I have found a couple of nice beginner classes, and there is a dance shop just down the road from me! I don't want to be a pro or anything, just want to get back to normal life and do it a nice pretty way!

PS: When i was a little girl i got told i was too tall for ballet! I was very tall for my age i think, and im 5' 10" now.
