>It certainly is possible.  As a teacher I had several older students who were quite successful on pointe.  You need a good teacher.  YOu will also need to study regularly 2-3 times per week.  And depending upon how recent your study has been - you will need about 2-3 yrs. of preparatory work.  If you have any further questions, please e-mail me. Thank you so much for your response Basheva!!  Your words were the encouragement I have been seeking.  For some reason I always considered the idea of pointe as an adult unreachable.  I have noted your e-mail and I appreciate your offer of advice.  The last time I took ballet classes, I was not really fit enough to keep up, so right now I am concentrating on my basic fitness level and strength/flexibility before committing to class.  Finding a teacher where I live is not easy, but I know an ex-Royal Winnipeg principal who has expressed enthusiam to teach me.  Do you have any other preparation suggestions for me?  I've included my e-mail address to this if you'd like to e-mail me.  Thanks again!!!!!
