I started as an adult with a great deal of athletic training and experience as  a semi-professional musician.

I started with classes that were called "adult classes" but invariably there would always be at least one youth in the class.

I now take 10+hours of classes per week along with 2 hours of Pilates per week.  Most of my classes are with the youth, with a little extra warm up and thought to what I am doing, I can keep up with them.

I would recommend taking classes over private lessons because:1) Cost (try over $40 (US) per hour is typical in the US).2) You need someone to set the example for what you need to do.3) It gets demoralizing to be the only one in there getting 1-2 hours of corrections.

Go for it!  You'll relly come to love dance.
