I will not take any dance class without the appropriate body wear...unitards or tights with a tight fitting t-shirt.
Where I'm at, I don't see many guys in classes, but most of them are in bodywear.
I was in a class where a teacher was teaching a waltz-step and she said OK girls...imagine yourself in the arms of your man dancing. I made a bid Harumph! She quickly apologized. I am gay and don't waltz with my man (I can't hold him close enough in a waltz)! But I resented the fact that a dance teacher did not consider that the feelings of a man in a ballet class.
I don't mind guys in class who wear sweats, but they are missing the ability of a sincere dance teacher to see how their body moves so proper corrections can be made. I only wear light colors, like light grey, so the teacher can see as much of me as possible. And I believe I get better corrections.

>I have noticed in recent years going to ballet class yhat most me shy away from wearing tights and unitards. I myself enjoy wearing unitards. I love the freedom it gives you while in class and am not worried about if someone thinks I am gay.[/i]
