Hi dancer-jae!

This board has become nasting since Balletboy of the north east started posting, he took the name "Balletboy" to aggravate me and confuse people.  He attacked me on another baord for being a pompous know-it-all.  I just like giving information, and sometimes I'm too pedantic, but if you get to know me I am not pompous.

Now to the important stuff, ballet slippers.  It became obvious to me many years ago that local ballet stores could not stock everything and didn't want to.  I found this very kind and caring woman at Freed's of Londan in New YorK City that would always find me what I needed for ballet slippers.  When she thought the masters back in London changed the men's slippers, she advised me to order custom shoes, and took molds of my feet.  The she sold me custom made at reasonable prices.  However, when she retired, that wen out the window.

Then came the websites.  I was luck to find a men's slipper that fit me off the rack.  But I've had friends who had some trouble.  Two friends have ordered from www.nydancewear.com, about three years ago, and NY Dancewear sent them several pairs in different sizes to help fit the foot.  NOW, you can modify them with elastics and try the different sizes for a week, but can try them for size.  Then you send the sizes that don't fit back and get a credit.  Of course, this never works with dancewear.

I recommend NYDancewear a lot, and still hope they're willing to let guys try slippers for size like they did three years ago.  They seem to be the one site that cares about its customers, ragardless of male versus female.

I have never known anyone from "overseas" to order from them, but I'm sure it's no problem.  I've know two different guys who were not dancers who both wanted pointe shoes and dancewear in "plain-brown-wrappers," and they have obligzed.

I really hope you find a source for your slippers.  If NYDancewear doesn't work out, let me know and I'll help you find a store that will help you.
