Hi again!

You responded the following, and my answers follow...

>Thank you. What is a unitard?  Also, is it appropriate to wear a "wrestler bike tard" for class or doesn't it keep the legs warm enough? Does wearing the longer tights help the teacher see better? What is more common?

A unitard is a full body suit, compared to a letoard which covers just the torso or a biketard that covers the torso and top of the thighs.  It's a wrestling singlet or a biketard with full legs.

What most dancers wear often depends on the individual dancer and the conditions in the class.  If the class is air-conditioned, you'll want your legs covered.  It your muscles remain warm between exercises and the sudio is 80+ degrees, you may want the biketard.

The importance of wearing tights is for retaining some warmth to the muscles between exercises, but also to protect the skin of the legs if you fall.

What do most guys wear?  In beginning classes, it makes sense to wear the uniform: tights, dancebelt and a t-shirt.  The differences of different dress probably won't make much of a difference at the beginning.  In more advanced classes, the unitard probably gives the teacher the best exposure, but many teachers still might to prefer to see the position of the waist.  I wear an elastic belt at the waist when I wear a unitard.

Keep dancing!
