I wouldn't do that if I were you, with the tights over your slippers, it becomes very slippery, you might slip or fall when you are doing jetes. And how can you do pirouettes and stop at the spot and angle you exactly want?

I remembered when I started ballet when I was very young, we used to spray mists of water on the floors to help to avoid slipping. When I started pointe work, we use rosin on the pointe and the soles. We use a ruffer now to keep the floors clean.

I also bet your tights would not last through one class as all the movements will cause your tights to wear out at the soles. Tights are not inexpensive and I waat them to last for at least a couple semesters before I have to buy new ones, Of course I have at least half a dozen pairs (I actually wear unitards rather than tights) so I can have fresh ones every day while the soiled ones are drying after I wash it!(I always take 3 pairs to class and rehearsals, just in case)  Oh well, it might be the fastest way to convert footed to lootless tights without using a pairs of sissors to cut them.I see some photos of dancers with their tights over their shoes in Dance and Pointe magazines, but they are only for photography purpose to make the dancers look good, they don't dance dressed as such. Especially in performance, it wastes too much time to peel off the tights when the dancer finds it necessary to change shoes, adjust or retie the ribbons.Sami
