I don't know if they still make them, but Freed of London used to have men's nylon tights that were pretty sheer.

With the trend towards nylon/lycra and some new materials, I think it would be hard to find the lighter weight tights.

One thing you could do is to buy the nylon or nylon/lycra material you like and have someone like www.renaissancedancewear.com make you a pair or two.  They also might have some lighter material in stock, but I know they'll custom make alsmost anything in a material you send them.
