I'm not sure what happened to Wendy Knits.  They made an excellent dance belt, that was argueably the first comfortable true thong design.

Many dancewear makers got caught up in the '80s aerobics fashion industry, and perhaps Wendy Knits made some bad decisions, causing them to go out of business.
