Most of my discomfort when riding comes from breeches that don't fit (full leather seat ones with less "give"). I think I mentioned that I always wear a thong under my britches when riding, playing polo, and for dressage competition. And it works very well for me with the full-leather-seated britches. The leather against the "bare" butt seems to hold well against the skin, so much so that the leather becomes a "second skin" and works well against the saddle. Then again, I always wear my britches in a "tighter" size so they conform like a second skin (almost like tights). I never wore tights when riding, though, fearing they wouldn't be durable. I cannot abide loose britches, like some of the denim-cotton polo britches they sell. With loose britches, the fabric can fold against the skin, causing irritation. Now I know you can pay upwards of $600.00 for a custom pair of britches (there's this tack shop on Madison Avenue in NYC that made them, back in the 1980s, for about $550.00!). I find the German Eurostar britches (still $200 to $300+) much more comfortable, and worth the investment. One of my dressage trainers, who also owned a tack-shop, used to laugh at me for buying cheap Argentine saddles that cost less than my britches! That's my humble opinion on bricthes (breeches)! balletboy Antworten zu diesem Beitrag:
