They were very durable, and the ones I bought years ago are still wearable today. Sadly, Danskin, bought out Dance France and pulled the plug. The tights I wear most of the time now are made by One Step Ahead. Theyare made out supplex and are pretty durable. Plus, they fit me, considering theywere made for women. I'm 6'2", 265 lbs. and with, unfortunately a hefty waist.They can be bought at Sandiegofit.com. Or you can try activebody.com, though that web-site seems to be down at the moment. I generally prefer women's dancewear, partly because it is more unisex, and I seem to get a better fit than the male dancewear. I also use the thongs that One Step Ahead makes as dancebelts.
