With a waist that size, an MStevens dance belt, size small is your best bet.  Finding a dance belt that fits guys with less than a 30" waist is a challenge, but MStevens sizes their stuff a full size smaller than most.  MStevens are pretty easy to find, either online or at your local dancewear store.  They do what dance belts are designed to do (hold your genitals firmly and safely out of the way) but aren't grossly tight.  

You will probably find that any dance belt feels a bit "different" at first.  They really aren't uncomfortable, but the feeling of a thong takes some getting used to.  Hope this helps, but feel free to write if you have more questions.
