I've seen a few "full-figured" women taking ballet classes. While I recognize their desire to take classes and get a good work-out, the teachers are often concerned that they're going to injure themselves. Luckily for us, they also recognize that they probably don't look very good in regular dance attire, so they do tend to cover up more than usual.

The taller women look really good up on stage. Unfortunately, it's hard for them to find partners. What I usually see is the schools finding tall guys that don't dance to partner with them, but they at least learn some character dance. The smaller girls are usually in pretty high demand anywhere they go, regardless if they are a bit pudgy. Just as long as the guys can hold them securely in place, they will get more stage time simply because they can preform in a pas de deux.

So I see the world, at least...
