[i]I just thought I'd add my humble bit...<br>Basically, the longer you can stay in the pirouette position, the longer you can turn for, you just throw yourself round harder. So I'd suggest practicing staying up for as long as possible. It helps develop your sense of a centre of balance and strengthens your 'pull-up'. Then you can just turn as much as you like (remember to spot).<p>I hope that makes sense,<p>James :o)<p>>Davy...<br>>I have two additional suggestions: (1) the plie/preparation is important; and, (2) when you rise, it's important that the standing leg is straight (don't let the knee buckle or loosen), and make sure you have shifted your center over to a stable position on the standing leg.<br>>You can practice these things at the barre, without turning.<br>>Good Luck!
