lots of dancers i know are clumsy offstage and amazing on stage. because balet is coreographed i find it easier to remember than say a forward twisting jumpshot lay up (ok i made that up but you know what i mean)
also learning combinations takes almost as much practice as the combinations do (at least for me) you just have to be willing to feel silly for a while and let yourself pick it up.
>Hi. I'm 30 years old and I'm thinking about taking a ballet class. I live in New York, and I know there are lots of really good dance schools here, many with beginners classes. >But here is my problem. I am not kidding around when I say I am the least coordinated, unathletic guy on the face of the earth. It takes me forever to learn the simplest physical skill, like a new sport. Can anybody recommend a school or private teacher who specializes in idiots like me? [/i]
