I'm 18 years old, a dance major, and have been doing mostly hip-hop and modern dance stuff. I only know a few ballet terms/moves (excuse my sp. ran jam, plie, chasse, pirouette, etc...) and quite frankly I am nervous as heck. First of all, I don't know what to wear (I am hoping that jazz pants are acceptable- because I don't want to wear tights). Types/brands of ballet shoes- do I need foot thongs? What is the deal with the all white t-shirt? Do I need a dancebelt, if I wear jazzpants? And if I have to wear tights, what is a good dance belt? <p>Generally, I am afraid of what of what people are going to think. I'm not gay, however I know this is a requirement in order for me to fulfill my knowledge of being a dancer. <p>Can anybody give me any tips or advice, to ease this fear.
