As dancers, we have nothing to say about how we are costumed. Those decisons are made by choreographers and designers and we follow orders.<p>I did Romeo and Juliet as part of a summer intensive. It was not the full ballet but an abstract piece. As Romeo I wore white tights and no shirt. All the other guys in the ballet wore grey tights and no shirts. Honest, I think it was costumed that way to save money.<p>The one piece of advice I can give you is start rehearsing topless as soon as you can. You'll get used to it and it will seem more and more natural to you.
