Re: Wearing tights in public

I do it all the time and I don't care what people think.  I usually wear whatever color tights I want plus either the same color leotard or one of a different, even strikingly so, color.  In the summer, I usually wear a thin strapped leotard and, of course, in the winter, I usually wear a leotard over my tights that has a high neck that is fully sleeved.  Whenever I get any comments it is usually because I am wearing nothing but a pair of denim shorts over both the leotard and my tights.  Anyway, regarding the comments, it is usually to tell me I look sexy, but that's not why I wear them.  I usually wear them because I do like them.  But then, I am a woman also and this is why no one thinks it's strange or otherwise.Interestingly, my boyfriend had to wear both tights and a leotard for a performance once (he's majoring in theatre) and his reaction both to trying them on in our apartment and then wearing them for the performance was to become enormously embarrassed.  Also interesting is the fact that, when he began his performance, all the embarrassment left him and so the performance didn't suffer.  I believe that is the way (or should be!) for any man interested in ballet or any of the performing arts. One more thing: so you don't think I'm a total prude, I do have to say that my guy looked incredibly sexy when he wore tights and leotard and I do tend to think that he would like to again.  We've discussed such (I keep asking him to put them on again and again in our apartment!) and I hope I can convince him to do so.But, and here's the thing. I have been in ballet for a long time now and I hope that there will less and less matters of SEXUALITY or even PORNOGRAPHY here on this forum.  Sensuality is one thing but if sex is your issue, then please, somewhere else.  Since I'm also teaching (well, trying to) ballet, I would like to introduce others to this forum and I think that several of the subjects listed here should simply be somewhere else.

Dance is beautiful, isn't it?
