There isn't muchoccasion for men to do pointe work, although pointe has beenused for Bottom in some versions of Midsummer Night's Dream, &sometimes pointe is used for other roles, usually grotesque orsatyric. In addition, some men do pointe work because itstrengthens the muscles of the lower extremities.
