I agree that the loss of Dancing Doc creates a vacuum in this forum.  However, if you want to continue to read what he has to say you will have to join Ballet Alert! and/or DanceArt.  Both are moderated messageboards, and they are decidedly not bizarre - that stuff gets filtered out.  Also, it costs $10 to join DanceArt.

It's not that Parsimony's Male Ballet is "getting really bizarre" - it has always been that way.  The serious inquiries have always been outnumbered out by nitwits like little Timmie and his "bulge" obsession; not to mention the continuing fascination by (mostly) non-dancers with all things lycra.

A few weeks ago, I announced my departure from this forum, but I reneged, and here I am again.  To me, this place is sort of like the Wild West - anything goes.  At the same time I read messages like little Timmie's, I'm both rolling my eyes and laughing.  The moderated boards are pretty tame, by comparison.

But it's also true that I have learned a lot from Male Ballet, and part of my continued interest stems from the belief that the real dancers will continue to take this place, and each other, seriously, and post messages and questions of value.
