Hi Alex! Maybe I can help....

I was concerned when you wrote ">>Will my boyfriend laugh at me if he were to see me in a dance belt? He is not a dancer but a great sportman. Will he find me more attractive in a dance belt? Will he like me more in a dance belt or will it put put him off?"

I had a lover for some time.  He was a gymnast.  I was really into ballet, but he got mad when I wore dancewear and didn't like me to go to ballet classes.  I think he was jealous of how great I looked in my dancebelt, and in my tights, and in my unitards, etc.  I also think he was jealous about me being around other guys in ballet class.  (Which was unfounded.  Almost all the guys I meet in ballet class don't seem to like me.)

My opinion is that the dancebelt is another piece of clothing.  If your boyfriend doesn't like to see you in clothing, he might not like the look of any dancewear.  On the other hand, dancewear can make you look great, and he should appreciate that you want to look great (for him).

My ex though that dancewear was a fetish for any guy, no matter what.  I got into ballet for the ballet and to develop a danseur's body, not to wear tights.  This is something that he never believed.  He also insisted that I wore my dancewear the way I do just to be seductive.  That's not true. I wear my dancewear so it shows off my body, and I never wear loose shirts to hide anything. If your boyfriend reacts this way, just set him straight!  Tell him the dancewear is functional.  And the teacher and audience needs to see your body.

Will your boyfriend take to ballet?  Will he appreciate the strength and movement?  Does he understand ballet?  Doies he understand that ballet can be very sensual and stimulating?  Have you taken him to any performances?

Let me know what happens.  Please email me!  balletboy
