It is quite understandable that you are self conscious and nervous.  From your description of your age, I would have to guess you are going through puberty and the body you've gotten used to is changing rapidly.  It is very common to be shy discussing these changes with parents, especially when it means buying something new (deodorant, a razor, or a dancebelt) that draws attention to your developing manhood.  It's important to remember that once-upon-a-time, they dealt with the same issues.  That may not make it any easier to talk to them, but at least if you did, they would understand.

If you need your parents' assistance to buy your dancebelt, you can either just tell them the truth: "I'm going to be wearing a skintight unitard as my concert costume and I need a dancebelt to wear under it."  or you can just tell them your instructor/director requires them. If they ask what a dancebelt is, you can tell them it a specialized version of an athletic supporter worn by male dancers.

If you live in or near a large city, you should be able to find a dancebelt at some local dancewear store.  Call ahead to make sure they carry men's gear, and what brands and sizes they have in-stock.  Many stores only offer a limited selection of men's stuff and don't seem to really care if they run out of something.  For that reason you might want to try mail-order.  The folks at Backbay Dancewear (Patterson's) in Boston have always been terrific to deal with.  Call them at 1-800-554-2340.  They have a web page but its always under construction.  If you plan on not telling your parents about your purchase, they could probably arrange to accept a money order from you, since you won't have access to your parents' credit card.

What do you wear to class now and to practice for your concert?  You should consider wearing a dancebelt to class for protection and also to get used to what it feels like before your big upcoming concert.  I for one, would not want to deal with a dancebelt and unitard for the first time when I'm going on stage in front of an audience.

Even wearing a dancebelt, your unitard will show every lump and bump on your body, including your male bulge.  Since there is no waistband on a unitard, even your dance belt will show a few lines.  Still, the combination of dancebelt and unitard is as close to a flawless skintight look as you can get.  You'll need a thong style with as few extraneous seams as possible.  I would recommend trying to find an MStevens dancebelt, which is lightweight and has no funny seams.  Tan/nude is a good choice of color which can be worn with any color costume.

When you first put on your new dancebelt, you might decide its pretty uncomfortable.  It's necessary to reach inside and pull everything so it faces up (towards your belly button).  Make sure nothing is caught under the edge of the pouch or it will drive you nuts.  If you've packed it right, you'll get used to the extremely tight feeling, although you certainly won't forget you've got it on.  Putting on a dancebelt in a crowded dressing room is always a bit weird, but its a lot better if everyone is dealing with putting one on, tugging and poking to get comfortable.  If you are the only dancebelt wearer at the concert and are nervous about what the other guys will say, consider putting it on at home.  Of course that means you'll be wearing it longer, so if it is still uncomfortable, that may not be a good option.

I hope this answers your questions, but if not feel free to write.
