It's one of the most prominent regional ballet companies in the United States. Among other things, Ballet West is known for its versatility, and unique company style. It's awesome that you're part of it. What exactly is an "alternate" in terms of Ballet West's policy? Do you get to take company class? Do you perform with the company in their main productions?
