Jose Mateo's is the second-largest ballet organization in New England, and is renowned for its superior instruction. There are a number of men in the beginner's class, and the atmosphere all-around is encouraging and personable. The studios are at 400 Harvard St. in Harvard Square. That's right next to the Inn at Harvard.
