There are several troupes of male danseurs that do this type of travesty.

Actually, as much as I think the male danseur needs to be displayed for the glory of his masculinity,  I don't object to males who imitate female ballerinas for the sake of comedy.

No matter how maculine of a ballet performance a male danseur may portray, there are many observers who think male danseurs are effeminine.  That's the way most of American society perceives male ballet danseurs.  I think society is sick for this, but have to accept reality.

I used to run around my apartment area in tights.  There was this pro basketball player who always said I was in really good shape.  I told him that was because I took regular ballet classes.  He told me I was joking.  I got this ballet pink ballet bag and showed him my ballet slippers, but he still did not need believe a guy like me took ballet.

He was transferred to the LA Lakers, then disappeared in their obscurity.

American society does not want to accept masculine danseurs.  They will buy tickets for these travesty troupes when male danseurs act as females and laugh.  What I say, at least these male danseurs who portray females are getting a decent paycheck.  They still are men who love ballet!

Demeaning?  Society demeans us, whether or not we play into it.  If a male danseur is able to continue in his love of ballet acting whatever, God love him!
