I really understand what you are saying!  I didn't mean to glorify my experiences, because the truth is that at about 60% of the schools where I take classes have that same attitude towards men, and adult students!

I have this one school where I take a class with about twenty adult women.  At every recital most of us keep asking why we could not be in the recital (Ricki!  Why can't I be in the show! is our rallying call!), and most of the teachers say you must be kidding!  We pay as much as the kids, but don't get respect.

So I understand!  Just find the male/adult friendly schools.
