Starting at 21, if you find the right training, it is actually still possible to have a professional career. You are right to understand that it will take a LOT of work and sacrifice. As to what to tell your parents --- you don't need to tell them anything because you're an adult. But if you like, you can point to the various great male dancers (Baryshnikov, for example). You can mention how valued men are in the world of ballet. If they're worried about your sexuality, you can tell them that ballet isn't going to change it. Answers to this message:
