Sometimes....

Hi rhys!

I loved the pictures of NYC!  My family lived in NYC on weekends when I was little, and I have lived there on and off in the past few years.  The Shelburne! I forgot about The Shelburne!

So down to the problem of the weak side. ... Everybody has a weak side! (Well almost everybody!)  It means more work for that side.  The problem is that guys like me focus too much on the weakness when we should be working that side without the anxiety of thinking it's our weak side.

A "weakness" just means I need to focus on development more.  I find that when I worry too much about that weakness, the "worry" overcomes the work.  And I find it very difficult to work when I worry.  My suggestion is to relax and just work at it.  I have real problems with outside turns to the left....HELL! I have problems with any turns to the left.  I worry and my left knee buckles, and the turn falls.

I know it's difficult, but I have to forget about "weakness" and think I'm doing a fantastic turn.  I find that in ballet I have to believe that what I'm doing is beautiful to the audience, even if it may be flawed.  I know I'm not Nureyev, but that I want to portray the best ballet image I can.

So the best advice I can give is to relax and work.  I hope than helps.
